Join me at my treehouse on Vashon Island for an exploration of mediumship through pinhole photography. We will dive into the spectrum of subtle sensing, take pinhole photos with the intention of opening to our loved ones in spirit, develop with tree bark, and end the session with soup and reflections.

Pinhole is an excellent conduit for fostering the inexplicable. My own experience has shown me how the liminal speaks through a spectrum from physical markings to a simple feeling that influences my posing.

For this workshop, let's ponder the possibility of how someone's non-physical presence, spirit, and story express through our movement, our stillness, and ultimately a photograph.

While markings, orbs, and disturbances may appear in a photograph, they also might not. The point is not to force the physical proof, but rather to explore how we can open ourselves as channels, mediums, to non-physical collaboration with our loved ones in spirit. What happens if we intentionally open that space and invite liminal influence? How can we remain open to connection and guidance long after the photograph is developed?

We will start the day with a discussion on subtle communication through the Clairs and psychic vs mediumship communication. I will lead the group through various exercises to practice subtle sensing as well as a guided meditation to open to the frequency of mediumship.

We will then transition to photo making, inviting a loved one in spirit to collaborate in some way. Every participant will have their own camera and can wander inside or outside of the property to create their photo. We will regroup to develop, then take at least one more photo. Depending on the availability of light, we will make our photos on negative paper, sheet film, or a combination.

For this workshop, we will be using a blend of Hemlock and Madrona tree bark as the base of our developer. Hemlocks are known as the wise elders that hold our histories and stories. Madrona is known as the divine mother whose roots hold the web of life together. These trees take us into our hearts, into our lineages, and into the spectrum of shadow.

We will end the day over soup and take time to reflect on the day.

This experience will be different for everyone and results are not guaranteed. Pinhole photography + alternative development + mediumship is an xtra experimental artform that produces a range of results, and sometimes none at all! There's guidance in that ;) Come with an open mind and a willingness to play in the unknown. No prior experience in photography or intuitive practice required.

This workshop will take place outside rain or shine, with access to indoor space (up a flight of stairs). Please come prepared for the elements. Due to the limited nature of the workshop, I cannot offer refunds.
